Guided Tours of Scotland

Scotland and England Tour

A Scotland and England Tour could be anything from a two day tour to a two week voyage. On shorter trips I would recommend concentrating on South West Scotland, the Scottish Borders, the English Lake District, Northumberland and Yorkshire. North of the border you can visit some of the many ruined abbeys which were in the firing line during the centuries of warfare between the two nations. Both coastlines are home to picturesque fishing villages such as Portpatrick, Kirkcudbright, North Berwick and Eyemouth with opportunities for bird watching and coastal walks. Just South of the border lies the famous Hadrian's Wall, built by the Romans around 130 AD, most of which is still standing along with some Roman villages. The Lake District is a lovely area to tour, often called the Highlands of England, it has National Park status and consists of large lakes and mountains, including the highest English mountain, Scaffell Pike. The county of Yorkshire is home to the cathedral city of York as well as Harrogate and the Yorkshire Moors, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

For those with more time, I can tailor make a tour to your specifications including the Scottish Highlands and the popular sights in England. This tour could start and end anywhere in the UK to suit you onward travel plans.
